Casual Chess
Whether you’re new to chess or very experienced, this is the best way to get going with chess. Come by at any time during our Saturday hours and stay for as long as you want.
There is no membership fee, no age limit, & no experience necessary. Come by just to watch! No pressure. Feel free to socialize, eat, drink, and, of course, play chess!
We host a wide variety of skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or a curious beginner, Piermont Chess is a great place to play.
We have many sets (you can bring your own), coffee, donuts, and there’s usually a chess event playing on TV. Bring a friend!
Exhibition Tournaments
Exhibition tournaments are unrated tournaments with no registration fees, and no USCF membership requirement!
These matches are very popular and a great way for new and old alike to enjoy the experience of competitive chess without the anxiety of rated competition. Registration for these events is free and open to everyone. We provide sets, clocks, pencils and notation score sheets just like we do for rated tournaments.

USCF Rated Tournaments
Our favorite thing to do is host official USCF rated tournaments! They are operated by our local USCF certified tournament directors in affiliation with Rockland County Chess Club in Nyack, NY. All events are open to all skill levels unless otherwise noted.
USCF membership is required and registration fees are also required. These fees help cover our costs for ratings reports, maintaining our equipment, and providing prizes!
