After hitting our max capacity for the Blitz Championship last month, we were pleasantly surprised to set a new record for a regular rapid event! 29 registered players minus 1 withdrawal for 28 total. They all came for 5 rounds of G/15+10 rapid chess! It was a freezing winter day with an extreme cold warning, but the sky was clear and sunny and it was toasty warm inside.

Things kicked off at 11:30. A few hours later Allan Bennett and Miguel Moledo were leading the pack until they met in round 4 where Miguel won the point and a chance to challenge the other undefeated player, Julian Warren, for 1st place. After a great game, Julian was ultimately victorious and took 1st place with a perfect score!
